An extremely furtive passage migrant and winter visitor. Although common, it is often difficult to get close views of this small species due its shy nature and rapid movements through the foliage. Several different forms occur in Qatar, and these are frequently hard to tell apart. However, most individuals show a subtle dark highwayman's mask and a contrasting white throat that stands out against the greyer underside.
